Biographically-based Information

  • Full Name: Ignatius Walowik
  • Age: 127 (apparently young for his kind)
  • Sex: Male...?
  • Race: Unknown. Demon Crossbreed of some kind.
  • Height: 6'3"
  • Weight: 174lbs
  • Skin Color: Black with an iridescent sheen of turquoise and blue
  • Eyes: Glowing red-orange

Abilities

  • Teleportation: A dimensional warp from one place to another. Doing this tends to leave scraps of Ignatius' essence behind for a few seconds before they rejoin him at his new location. They can be burnt away by fire or similar energy, leaving him with several small burns. Iggie's a bit too fond of this one, and it gets far too easy to anticipate his movements after a while.
  • Dimensional Rift: A pocket dimension where Ignatius stores his various items and equipment. New items can be marked for storage inside, but the larger and more complex the item is, the longer it takes. Living things will slowly die or become warped by the plane's influence. Inanimate objects do tend to develop a bit of a flair from the demonic energies, usually becoming covered in blades and sharp edges.
  • Bio-Regeneration: Every single part of Ignatius' body can regrow or be healed in a very short time. Doing so will drain a bit of his energy, but the worst that can come of this drain is unconsciousness and near-starvation. It has been postulated that if he were entirely destroyed, his body would still be capable of regenerating around his soul due to his demonic origin.

Natural Properties

  • Rubbery Skin and Bones: Most of Ignatius is made of a material that is somewhere between bone and cartilage. It means that most blunt force will be repelled easily, but he cuts much more easily than a normal human. This springy quality also makes him perfectly equipped for rebounding from falls and squeezing into tight spaces.
  • Double Jointed: Most of Ignatius' bones and joints can bend far further than would be expected due the aforementioned makeup of the bones. His legs are also built similarly to a cat or frog, allowing a much springier jump and better conservation of energies between movements.
  • Claws and Jaws: Each of Ignatius' long fingers and toes ends with a sharpened spike of bone-like materials. His mouth is filled his serrated teeth, and even his 'tongue' is little more than an extra blade used to slice up food and draw it further into the throat.

Inventory

All of Ignatius' equipment is stored in his pocket dimension until needed.

  • Hook Blades: Something of a cross between a sickle and a kukri, Iggie's special blades are best used for hooking enemy limbs. As they are sharpened on every exposed edge besides the hilt, a slice from any direction can leave a nasty cut. The secondary blades attached to the bottom of the hilt of each blade are actually a sharpened, metal covered tooth-jaws that were lost in past battles. Even if his head is otherwise occupied, Iggie can still sink his teeth into his opponent.
  • Revolvers: These old-style firearms are covered in precious metals earned from past conflicts as well as a number of upgrades added over the years. The clips have been enlarged to allow 18 bullets per gun, and small blades have been welded to both the end of the barrel (a kind of mini-bayonet) and the bottom of the grip. (He keeps 25 spares of his specialized clips which can be thrust in pre-loaded if he manages to empty one in the midst of a battle)
  • C4: Since being hired by a certain ancient deity, Ignatius has received a near-infinite supply of C4 in various stages of preparation.
  • Scrap Pile: Various spare parts and pieces Ignatius occasionally tinkers with. He hasn't built anything too useful with them yet, but they're there if needed.
  • Gragak's Blade: Stolen and marked during a recent scuffle with a certain Gremlin jokester, The edge is a single molecule thick, making it able to cut through just about anything.
  • Iggie's Glaive: No, not the pole-arm weapon. Think the Predator weapon: A spinning, spiked frisbee of death and destruction. Even without summoning it, this weapon will return to Ignatius' hand after it loses enough momentum.
  • The TVR (Terminal Velocity Rock): While at first glance this rock may seem like a simple stone projectile, it is, in fact, much more. A teardrop-shaped stone with sharpened, near-serrated edges, this rock leached away a small amount of Iggie's soul as he etched a tally of his losses into it. While he never expresses or even feels it, the shame, anger and humiliation of these defeats is personified in the rock. It is clear like obsidian through to a white core, but the edges 'glow' with a kind of negative light, seeming at once blood red and so black that it absorbs light around it. At one point the TVR was at terminal velocity because Ignatius took advantage of the way portals can retain momentum, but now it exceeds that speed under its own strange power. It also seems to home a slight bit when people aren't paying attention...
  • 'Clink': A robotic beastie about three times the size of a football and the same approximate shape until it unfolds. It's little more than a simple CPU/Brain center covered in robotic limbs and just about every weapon imaginable. Made from mostly scrap and junk weapons, some are more effective than others. If he's destroyed, he automatically fades back into the Storage dimension and slowly draws back together. The more it stays there, the more properties it gains, however. It seems to function on several basic robotic systems and a fragment of Ignatius' own soul.

Weaknesses

Most things that burn will stop Ignatius' healing at least temporarily. This includes pure magic, acid, fire, etc. Holy weapons will also prevent this healing to a small degree, but are less damaging that one would expect for a demon, as he has quite a bit more in his lineage.

Backstory

Ignatius is the spawn of some bizarre experiments by cultists in the woods... and possibly some kind of orgy. He was discovered by some exiled mechanics in a world of magic that spurned them. Raised in their care, he learned a love of machinery and electronics that he otherwise might have missed out on. His 'parents' later attempted to use him to wipe out the wizards to cast them out in the first place. They trained him in some rudimentary combat techniques and let him loose. There was only one problem with their plan: He had a conscience.

Yes, apparently the mechanics had overlooked the possibility, him being part demon and all, and had just planned on loosing a monster on the world they hated. (incidentally, they were complete idiots when it came to anything with a heartbeat) Ignatius turned in the men who raised him, and in return, the Magi trained him in simple magic and a more advanced code of ethics. He spent several happy years in their keep, but one day his life was altered in yet another ill-conceived experiment.

At the age of about 28, a massive explosion rocked the tower in which Ignatius was living. A wizard trying to teach him more advanced teleportation techniques accidentally sent him through a dimensional rift to the Human world. This was the beginning of Ignatius' life as a hunted beast (and also Chupacabra, actually). He became quite cynical in his life of hiding and running, but never forgot his training from his younger years. Watching the humans taught him a love of computers, even more mechanics, and sarcasm. By the age of 56, he was hardened and tough psychologically, though still weak and helpless physically. He continued to wander the globe, taking in human culture, human social norms and, to a point, a certain human cynicism. While his teachings as a young... whatever he was were never lost on him, but he began to reevaluate them by around year 70. While he is not truly evil, he's lost much of his naivete over time. He will avoid killing unless some kind of intervention is assured (paranormal medical assistance, for example) or in self defense. He's taken much in the way of combat style from the great quippers of the past. Spiderman, Deadpool, the Joker... It is his goal to entertain and berate his opponent to the point of confusion before he takes them down. He's not literally a monster, but he has been known to eat the body parts of humanoids. Brains, blood, livers... He ate someone's appendix once, but it was going to be thrown out anyway. In all of his days of fighting, whether it be crime, drunkards or other supernormal beings in hiding, he's developed an almost surgical precision in his knife-work.

More recently, Ignatius discovered the town of Tandy, a safe haven for beings like him. He's taken up a residence, taken several consecutive beatings on the illusive Brawl Street, and had very little luck in the Arena. He's not the angsty type, but these losses took quite a bit out of him, driving him to be more brutal, more cruel in his taunting. He still has both soul and conscience, but both are constantly tested by the strains of battle...
